ABOUT OUR PARTNER
San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital (SDCPH) San Diego CA
The County of San DiegosBehavioral Health Services (BHS)department provides mental health and substance use disorder services to over 111000 San Diego County residents of all ages. Services are provided through 9 countyoperated programs over 300 contracts and 800 individual feeforservice providers. BHS offers services across the lifespan through coordinated systems of care and embraces Live Well San Diegothe Countys overarching vision for a region that is building better health living safely and thriving. BHS is leading an ongoing collaborative effort with justice partners hospitals community health centers and other communitybased providers to enhance expand and innovate the array of behavioral health programs available throughout the region. This body of work is referred to broadly as the Continuum of Care and includes the establishment of behavioral health hubs networks and new care coordination services to ensure BHS clients have access to the appropriate level of psychiatric services to meet their immediate needs and support longterm recovery.
San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital physicians will work collaboratively with the hospital administration and the County Behavioral Health Medical Director be part of a community safety net free standing hospital and have support from internal medicine physicians to care for patients.
Emergency Psychiatric Unit (EPU)
- This posting is for Vacation Coverage
- 18 bed unit within a freestanding psychiatric hospital facility
- 24hr physician coverage with shifts available between 8am4pm 4pm12am and 12am8am 365 days/year
- EPU physicians work closely with Crisis Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) counterparts to make decisions regarding admissions
- Overnight EPU physicians may provide support to CRU inpatient staff afterhours as needed

- 60 bed inpatient unit within freestanding psychiatric hospital
- 3040 average daily census
- Long length of stay (bimodal 57 days / 150 days)
- Weekend coverage by psychiatrists 8 AM 4 PM Saturday and Sunday

COMPENSATION
Daytime Hours (8am12am)
- W2 Employment Option: $230.00 per hour Attractive 401K with Competitive Company Match
- Contractor Option: $260.00 per hour nonbenefits eligible
Overnight Hours (12am8am)
- W2 Employment Option: $245.00 per hour Attractive 401K with Competitive Company Match
- Contractor Option: $280.00 per hour nonbenefits eligible
