Job Description
Job Title: Athletic Performance Coach (APC)
Organization: Athlos Academy
Location: Jefferson Parish
Reports To: Principal / Assistant Principal
Hiring Status: AtWill
FLSA Status: Exempt
FTE: 1.0
Schedule: Monday Friday 7:30 am 4:00 pm
Reporting Days: 190 10 months
Compensation: Salary
Evaluation Rubric: LEADS*
Starting Pay: $39800$75361 DOE;
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelors degree or enrollment in an approved teaching program
Experience: Classroom experience preferred
Certification: Valid local state teaching certificate in assigned content area or enrollment in an alternate certification program
Background: Clear FBI background check
Language: Strong verbal and writing skills in English Spanish fluency preferred

Job Duties
Classroom Instruction
- Follow Statespecified Effective Teaching Standards
- Creates a classroom environment that cultivates learning engages the interests of the students and allows them to perform at their very best.
- Utilizes academically rigorous lessons unit plans rubrics and assessments aligned to Athlos 3 foundational pillars of a Prepared MindHealthy Body andPerformance Character.
- Plans prepares and delivers instruction that engages students and ensures student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level standards.
- Uses data to inform instructional decisions including summative and interim assessments and daily formative assessments.
- Differentiates instruction based on individual needs learning style and abilities.
- Implement the Athlos Athletic curriculum focused on the development of physically literate students.
- Appropriately differentiate activities to account for students physical capabilities.
- Teach physical education in alignment with state standards.
- Plan prepare and deliver instruction that engages students and provides academic growth.
- Ensure student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level.
- Responsible for tracking student attendance behavioral issues and classroom events.
- Participate in regular professional development.
- Participate in the schools professional learning community to enhance learning objectives.
- Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules and deadlines.
- Cover assigned before and after school duties as requested
- Data collection for progress monitoring
- Support school initiatives.
- Improve instruction and learning with increased accountability for results.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Evaluate student academic growth and proficiency through the use of formative and summative assessments maintain appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents through conferences telephone calls emails student planners school website and other means to discuss the students progress.
- Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in helping students solve health academic social and emotional challenges.
- Integrate technology to support student learning.
- Provide and maintain a safe and supportive environment in the classroom and on the school campus.

Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.
- Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner.
