Job Description

This position is a member of the Weyerhaeusers Southern Timberlands Business. It is a FullTime Exempt position located in either Hattiesburg MS or Hammond LA and reports to the GulfSouth Region Marketing Manager. The Area Marketing Manager is the leader for all timber marketing activities for the Hattiesburg/Hammond Area and supports the overall timber marketing strategy for the GulfSouth Marketing Region.

Key Functions:

  • Develop and execute the annual timber marketing plan in collaboration with the Hattiesburg/Hammond Area teams and the GulfSouth Marketing team.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and longterm partnerships.
  • Manage contract agreements and administer timber sale contracts including both stumpage and delivered sales.
  • Forecast and communicate timber market changes to business leaders providing insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor and analyze timber market dynamics including units of measure product types log specifications prices supply and demand.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and find win/win solutions with the customers concept in mind.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support overall business objectives and drive growth.
  • A bachelors degree in forestry is preferred however marketing and businessrelated bachelors degrees will be considered in combination with forestry experience.
  • At least five years of experience in forestry. Experience in timber procurement harvesting and/or marketing is preferred.
  • Managing contract agreements and finding win/win solutions with the customers concept in mind
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that include conflict resolution team problem solving and relationship building
  • The ability to communicate confidently and clearly
  • A proven ability to accurately appraise timber value using timber cruising and market analysis
  • A good understanding of timber harvesting and delivery
  • Knowledge of current timber market dynamics including units of measure product types log specifications prices supply and demand
  • Strong computer skills and the eagerness to learn and use new technology
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Intrinsically motivated to experience professional and personal growth

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual meritincrease program and we are targeting a salary range of $97351$146027 based on your level of skills qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our companys 401k plan which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition after being employed for six months eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all fulltime employees.
