As a Building Trade/Construction Occupation Trades Teacher you will be responsible for developing curriculum course outlines and lesson plans for vocational education courses in Landscape Design and Horticulture for inmates at SCI Muncy. Your work will involve separating known trade or vocational skills into teaching units to provide organized individual and group instruction to inmates. Your duties will include diagnosing and evaluating inmate potential achievement and progress by administering standardized and teacherconstructed tests. You will also grade inmate progress in both theory and occupational competency. In this position you will monitor inmate behavior and maintain an effective learning environment in the classroom and shop area. You can expect to maintain security of instructional materials and complete records reports and forms related to the operation of classes and the evaluation of inmate performance.
