Position: MS Technology Teacher

Position type: Full Time

Employment duration: 10 Months


Position Summary:

The MS Technology Teacher is responsible for creating resources for our curriculum and aligning our curriculum with the PSSA Assessment Anchors. The teacher also works as part of a grade level team to coordinate school wide efforts in order to meet the goals of the school in service to the scholars. The Middle School technology teacher creates and teaches intermediate computer skills such as media arts coding design robotics productivity and a variety of software applications appropriate for our students in collaboration with Memphis St. faculty within the context of the Middle School curricula. The Technology Teacher is responsible for seeking out and introducing technology innovations that enhance the educational program of the school.


Major Responsibilities

  • Make a scope and sequence that aligns with the PSSA Assessment Anchors
  • Create weekly lesson plans aligned to state standards and current curriculum in coordination with APS
  • Grade and provide timely feedback to students
  • Communicate with team about schoolwide and grade expectations
  • Communicate with families about their childs progress
  • Coordination with ESL teacher
  • Coordination with special education teacher
  • Building and maintaining positive relations with students.
  • Attend after school hour events as needed
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Initiate develop and teach technology curriculum under supervision of Director of Technology and Director of Middle School;
  • Lead scheduled technology classes grades 68;
  • Assess and report on student progress;
  • Schedule and supervise the MS Technology Lab;
  • Maintain equipment in MS Lab and carts for curricular use;
  • Organize and offer technical equipment for MS student and teacher use;
  • Research and recommend purchases to augment curriculum.
