Job Description

Assistant Vice President Employee Benefits

Location: Nashville TN (Onsite)

We are currently seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Benefits to lead and manage all aspects of employee benefits strategy and administration. This is a highimpact leadership role focused on delivering competitive costeffective and compliant benefits programs that support organizational goals and enhance the employee experience.


Our client is a leading multistate healthcare provider operating nearly 200 sites of careincluding hospitals and multispecialty physician practices. With 23000 employees and over 1700 employed physicians our mission is to deliver patientcentered care supported by a strong communityfocused workforce.


What Youll Do:

  • Lead the strategic design and execution of all core benefit programs including health dental vision life disability leave management retirement and wellness.

  • Manage vendor relationships contract negotiations and performance oversight (TPAs brokers carriers consultants).

  • Analyze data and trends to assess program effectiveness support cost management and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable benefitrelated laws and regulations (ACA ERISA HIPAA etc.).

  • Oversee benefits communications and educational initiatives to drive employee understanding and engagement.

  • Support integration activities during M&A events and oversee updates to internal and external benefits platforms.

  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with internal teams including HR Finance and Legal to ensure alignment with overall talent strategy.

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Accounting or related field (required).

  • 10 years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in benefits administration and design.

  • Strong understanding of compliance issues including ACA SarbanesOxley and benefits due diligence during mergers/acquisitions.

  • Experience managing RFPs and negotiating with benefits vendors.

  • Familiarity with Lawson HRIS preferred.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CEBS CBP) are a plus.

Key Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative benefits strategies.

  • Strong analytical skills and fluency in Excel for datadriven decisionmaking.

  • Knowledge of accounting/actuarial concepts related to benefits financials.

  • Effective communicator with a consultative approach.

  • Agile flexible and resilient in a dynamic environment.
