The Douglas Elementary School is looking for a 1.0 FTE School Adjustment Counselor for theSchool Year to join our School Adjustment Counselor PostingJob Title: Elementary School Adjustment CounselorLocation: Douglas Elementary School Douglas Public SchoolsJob Type: FullTime SchoolYearStart Date: August 25 2025Salary: Per contract with the District Name Teachers AssociationBenefits: Full benefits package availableJob Description:Douglas Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Adjustment Counselor to join our student support team and have a positive and powerful impact on our school. This role focuses on providing direct support to students in need of socialemotional and behavioral intervention promoting a positive school climate and collaborating with educators families and outside include:Providing individual and group counselingSupporting students in crisis and conducting risk assessmentsCollaborating with staff to support behavior and emotional regulationContributing to IEP 504 and behavioral planningCommunicating with families and community mental health providersParticipating in schoolbased teams and SEL programmingMaintaining student records and adhering to confidentiality lawsQualifications:Masters degree in Counseling Social Work Psychology or related fieldValid Massachusetts DESE license as a School Adjustment Counselor (PreK8 or All Levels)Experience working with elementaryaged children preferredStrong interpersonal collaboration and crisis management skillsKnowledge of traumainformed and restorative practicesApplication Instructions:Please submit your resume cover letter proof of licensure and three professional references via Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in its hiring practices.
