Job Description

Job Summary

Reporting to and receiving work lead direction from the Associate AD for Compliance the Assistant Director of Compliance works independently to provide NCAA rules compliance to support administration coaches and studentathletes. The Assistant Director of Compliance monitors all recruiting activities playing/practice seasons CARA verification legislative relief/eligibility waivers complimentary ticket distribution and athletic staff personnel monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Liaison for the NCAA Transfer Portal.
  • Administration and maintenance of Teamworks & ARMS software and NCAA Apps (e.g. LSDBi RSRO Transfer Portal Eligibility Center etc).
  • Provide Teamsworks & ARMS software administrative support to coaches studentathletes and staff.
  • Create and maintain studentathlete and staff information and files.
  • Assist with data collection of NCAA & Mountain West Conference reports.
  • Ensures that all complimentary ticket requests are administered in compliance with NCAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other compliance staff to coordinate oncampus housing assignments.
  • Responsible for administering compliancerelated forms and logs for studentathletes coaches and staff.
  • Ensures the timely submission of Countable Athletic Related Activities (CARA) logs and verifies submissions and accuracy.
  • Monitors all activities associated with camps and clinics.
  • Monitors recruiting activities including unofficial and official visits.
  • Evaluates High School Transcripts.
  • Provides educational and interpretive support to athletic department constituents.
  • Primary Liaison to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
  • Assist Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance with creating and providing monthly NCAA Rules Education and materials for all coaches studentathletes staff and boosters.
  • Prepares and submits legislative relief waivers to the NCAA.
  • Prepares and submits NCAA violations.
  • Prepares and submits interpretation requests to Mountain West Conference and NCAA.
  • Files 5year clock extension of eligibility waivers.
  • Prepares and submits Medical Hardship waivers.
  • Processes studentathlete reinstatement requests to the NCAA.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience with NCAArelates software (e.g. Teamworks ARMS NCAA Portal etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with campus constituents coaches studentathletes and staff to accommodate needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills organizations and resolutionoriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive communications with employees and external agencies
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team
  • Demonstrated high competence in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact
  • Skilled in remaining professional when conflicts arise; ability to communicate with a solutionbased approach
  • Knowledgeable in FERPA and HIPPA policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively NCAA Division I rules and regulations
  • Experienced in software applications: Word Excel PowerPoint Publisher and Database Management
  • Experience in GoogleSuite and applications
  • Ability to interact and communicate with constituents in a professional and respectful manner at all times
  • Ability to attend conference and training sessions
  • Ability to work nights weekend and after hours (required)

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree and/or equivalent training
  • Two years of administrative work experience involving study analysis and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or Juris Doctorate/Law Degree
  • One year of experience in NCAA compliance at the Division I level

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6250/month
CSU Salary Range: $4598/month $8318/month
