Position: High School ELA Teacher

OBJECTIVE:
Core responsibilities of an English Language Arts Teacher include planning developing and compiling a comprehensive languagebased educational program for students and delivering quality instructions to them resulting in their overall development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct instruction in wholeclass smallgroup and individual settings.
- Utilizes datadriven instruction and PSOE educational frameworks to ensure delivery of standarddriven instruction to all students.
- Completes assessments grading planning and conferences with students staff and families within appropriate timelines.
- Utilizes oversight by team lead Elite Teachers Special Education Director school counselor and other subcontracted professional staff/outside agencies to identify and understand strategies for supporting and instructing students with exceptional needs.
- Ensures appropriate classroom implementation of BIPs FBAs IEPs and 504 programs.
- Complete any additional reporting as requested by the Special Education Director or counselor.
- Develops and maintains regular family communication and community partnerships.
- Completes reports and followup documentation as required by administration.
- Keeps updated and documented cumulative folders as ongoing case files for all current students.
- Contributes to a strong school education team that serves on school and community committees; seeks participation and involvement with direction for ongoing local operations.
- Acts as a professional advisor to the team lead/elite teacher on all aspects of school classroom activities.
- Maintains ongoing consistent and supportive communication for the classroom as noted in the schools frameworks.
- Assumes all roles are delegated for various school functions to manage the team workload more efficiently.
- Utilizes effective systems as delegated to troubleshoot problems track progress and regularly evaluate workflow components to measure progress in a way that can be effectively communicated to the team leader/elite teacher.
- Contributes to the organizations mission and reflects the schools priorities.
- Is prepared to assist in the planning implementation execution and evaluation of unique projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide interactive and meaningful learning material to students maintain a positive learning environment for their active participation assign homework and conduct class tests to analyze their progress.
- Implementing and delivering quality instruction to students and executing the instructional program by demanding higherorder thinking activities from students in a progressive manner.
- Designing the curriculum that challenges the learning ability of students and ensuring the overall development of language.
- Preparing home assignments and test materials evaluating the tests results and creating innovative teaching methods per the students varying backgrounds learning styles and grasping power.
- Providing learning material and language reference books to the students utilizing available resources in the school curriculum to monitor access and evaluate students learning abilities.
- Contributes to the organizations mission and reflects the schools
- Is prepared to assist in the planning implementation execution and evaluation of unique projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
The Classroom Teacher will be thoroughly committed to the AAMA mission. Prior successful full time education experience in a similar setting is preferred. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

- Prior experience in charter schools.
- Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to AAMAs mission.
REQUIRED EDUCATION CERTIFICATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: Bachelors degree in the field of education or equivalent.
- Preferred: Valid Texas State Teaching License
