Job Description

Barnstable Community Innovation SchoolSummer Program Teachers

Jumpstart to Kindergarten2025

Program Goal: Students enteringBarnstable Community Innovation School kindergarten will be invited to participate in a summer session to prepare these students and their families for the Kindergarten program school routines expected behaviors supports available and allay fears.

Position: Teachers

Job Description: Teachers will:

  • Introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting routines and expectations
  • Model expected behaviors in the classroom
  • Plan prepare and deliver jumpstart curriculum & daily activities
  • Provide student data to Program Coordinator
  • Tour the school building including cafeteria and gymnasium
  • Program staff will report to school and/or program administration and follow participating students progress

Program duration and anticipated schedule

  • August4 August 14
  • Monday through Thursday 8:30am 12:30pm (4 hrs/day)
  • 4 Hours Prep
  • 1 Hour of End of Program Clean Up Time
  • (37 Hours Total)

Qualifications

  • Appropriate certification and/or educational background
  • Strong planning and organizational skills

Reports to: Principal and Program Coordinator
