Job Description

The Childrens Museum has an opening for a Seasonal Guest Services Retail Associate to ensure a positive guest experience. It is the role of the Guest Services Retail Associate to support the operations of the Museums Lemonade stand while creating a presentable welcoming environment through exemplary guest service.


Position Specifications: Two Seasonal Parttime positions open:

  • 24 Hours/week Sunday Monday Tuesday
  • 24 Hours/week Wednesday Thursday Saturday Schedule


Rate: $20.00/hour (additional $1/hour for Bilingual proficiency in Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome adults and children engage in conversation and accurately answer guest questions regarding all aspects of the Museum
  • Maintain clean safe and inviting environments in all Museum spaces
  • Actively address guest feedback and work to improve overall guest experience
  • Follow opening and closing procedures for effective and accurate museum operations
  • Operate and maintain knowledge of Museums point of sale system
  • Support retail operations including stocking cleaning merchandising and food safety
  • Strong commitment to the Museums mission vision and values of diversity equity access and inclusion
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Strong commitment to the Museums mission vision and values of diversity equity access and inclusion
  • Ability to communicate with guests and coworkers in direct respectful and confident manner
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fastpaced environment while maintaining excellent guest service
  • Clean neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • High energy and interest in engaging with visitors while moving throughout the Museum
  • Fluent English proficiency: writing reading and speaking skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must pass Museum preemployment screening process

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) in a fastpaced environment. This position also performs duties related to cleaning and organization and will often be required to lift and move supplies and materials (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Other physical requirements may include walking bending stooping crouching or reaching.
