What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking an Oracle Apps DBA! You will be responsible for the administration monitoring and support of Oracle EBusiness Suite applications and the associated Oracle databases. This role involves ensuring the optimal performance security and availability of the applications and databases to meet business requirements. This is a remote opportunity for the right candidate but you must be a US citizen and live in the US.
How you will do it
Install configure and maintain Oracle EBusiness Suite applications and Oracle Database environments. Set up and manage application servers database instances and related components.
Monitor and tune Oracle databases for optimal performance including the application of best practices for database configuration and maintenance.
Manage database storage backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard for high availability and replication.
Analyze and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code to improve application performance.
Use Oracle performance tuning tools to monitor and enhance database efficiency.
Define and implement database security policies including user roles permissions and access controls.
Conduct regular security audits and implement security patches for both the database and applications.
Plan and execute upgrades and patches for Oracle EBusiness Suite and Oracle Database including testing and validation of new versions.
Coordinate application downtime with stakeholders to minimize business impact during upgrades.
Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support to application users and troubleshoot issues related to Oracle Applications and databases.
Collaborate with application developers to resolve databaserelated development issues.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture configurations processes and procedures.
Create regular reports on database performance security incidents and system health.
Work closely with crossfunctional teams including application developers network administrators and IT support to ensure smooth application and database operations.
Participate in project teams for new application deployments or system enhancements.
Implement monitoring solutions to proactively track database and application performance resource utilization and error logs.
Set up alerts for critical issues and respond promptly to incidents.
What you will need
Required
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with a focus on Oracle EBusiness Suite.
Proven experience with Oracle R12 and related technologies.
Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
Experience with Oracle tools such as RMAN Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Developer.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud services and database management.
Indepth knowledge of performance tuning methodologies and tools.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
This role may require oncall support and occasional afterhours work to perform system maintenance or upgrades.
Must be a US citizen. No sponsorship is available for this position.
Preferred
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or similar certifications are highly desirable.
