What you will be doing:
As the Central Region Utilities Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of capital improvement projects across the region. Youll collaborate with inhouse design teams consultant architects and engineers DOT&PF functional groups public and private utility companies and a wide range of external partners. Leading the Utility Group within the Traffic Safety & Utilities Section you will guide both the professional and administrative sides of the operation. Your work will shape how utility facilities are placed in the rightofway relocated and integrated into capital improvement projects ensuring smooth partnerships between designers engineers utility providers and agencies.

The working environment you can expect:
This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building in Anchorage AK located at 4111 Aviation Ave. This building resides on the shores of Lake Hood and is across from the Ted Stevens International Airport. This office building is generally comprised of cubicle office space and organized by departmental sections and teams including the Traffic Safety and Utilities Section in which this position is to be filled. Office hours and schedules have some flexibility and travel to project sites may be required for short durations. Hybrid teleworking is an option upon completion of the mandatory probationary period.
Who we are looking for:
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the core competencies of:
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series) or the equivalent.

Note: Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b).
