Job Description

Elms CollegeAssistant/Associate Professor Principal LeadershipElms College located in Chicopee MA seeks an assistant/associate professor in principal leadership whodemonstrates scholarly excellence in educational and practitioner leadership working in urban school districts toincrease the diversity of highquality administrators in urban districts. This position has a facultylineappointment in the Education Division with reporting lines to both the Center for Equity in Urban Educationand the Education Division. This is a twelvemonth fulltime tenuretrack faculty position with responsibilitiesof coordinating /overseeing the Principal/Assistant Principal PK8 and 512 licensure pathway programs. Thisposition will begin July 1 & Responsibilities Collaborate as a team member within the Center for Equity in Urban Education (CEUE) and theEducation Division to support and advance CEUEs programmatic pathways while upholding themissions of CEUE the Education Division and Elms College. Actively participate in the Center for Equity in Urban Education and Education Division meetingsprograms recruitment and professional learning events. Coordinate and administer the Principal/Assistant Principal PK8 and 512 licensure pathwayprograms including the recruitment and retention of a diverse population of students. Lead in reviewing and developing curriculum syllabi and program assessment with oversight andapproval of the Education Division Chair. Develop and teach graduate courses in the Principal/Assistant Principal PK8 512 licensure pathwayprograms and other Education division courses as needed. Actively participate in the colleges urban education initiatives to increase the number and diversity ofhighquality administrators in urban schools. Supervise students in sitebased practicums for the Principal/Assistant Principal PK8 and 512licensure pathway programs. Enhance and expand collaboration with school district and community partners to advance thePrincipal/Assistant Principal PK8 and 512 licensure pathway programs. Serve as an academic advisor for identified CEUE students. Adhere to college policies and procedures as indicated in the faculty handbook other collegewidedocuments and guidelines and directives from the Education Division and the Qualifications Earned doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in education or related field strongly preferred. Licensure as Principal/Assistant Principal PK8; 512; PreK6; 58; 912 and/orSuperintendent/Assistant Superintendent (levels: all). Demonstrated teaching excellence at the graduate level preferred. Demonstrated experience leading in a PreK12 school district. Demonstrated commitment to antiracist teaching equity and the growth and success of all students andstaff strongly preferred. Demonstrated record of program development and ability to provide program leadership. Knowledge of Massachusetts Standards of Effective Administrative Leadership and the PerformanceAssessment for Leaders (PAL). Knowledge of relevant accreditation standards such as Professional Standards for Educational Leaders(PSEL) and National Educational Leaders Preparation. (NELP) preferred. Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Proficiency in using new technologies in the classroom with experience in online and/or hybridteaching and academic advising.
