We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in theTheatre department.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Lead the delivery of highquality patientcentred care across the perioperative pathway acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team.
- Ensure that all patient safety checks including WHO surgical safety processes are carried out in accordance with hospital policy.
- Provide daytoday leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff fostering a culture of professionalism compassion and accountability.
- Support the development and assessment of competencies within the team promoting continuous professional development.
- Act as an advocate for patients ensuring their rights safety and dignity are upheld at all times.
- Apply all relevant legislation policies and procedures to theatre operations ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (e.g. scrub recovery or anaesthetics).
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers.
- Strong understanding of patient safety protocols safeguarding infection control and clinical governance.
- Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification for scrub leads.
- ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
- Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
- ILS.
- Excellent communication organisation and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to personal development and supporting the development of others.
- Requirement SFA part 1 or part 12
- Must have at least 3 years major elective orthopaedic experience both upper and lower limb
