A Brief OverviewCollaborates with appropriate interdisciplinary team members in assuring that services are provided in a safe efficient and cost effective manner that enhances patient staff and physician satisfaction. Accountable for department success through sound decision making fiscal financial planning maintaining appropriate staff levels monitoring competency and quality of services.
What you will do
- Demonstrates the ability to facilitate staff and resources to reinforce the vision of Avera.
- Cultivates relationships across functions and departments of local facility region and system.
- Develops short and long range plans for the department community and health system.
- Demonstrates the ability to establish benchmark goals to guide the departments activities and effectively deal with variances. This includes developing data analysis setting thresholds and developing action plans which resolve discrepancies.
- Manages the resources of department and hospital in a way that provides effective outcomes while at the same time only using minimum resources to achieve those outcomes.
- Develops positive relationships with customers (physicians patients families and referral sources) that help to promote Averas referral base.
- Utilizes teamwork to help achieve objectives and improve operation within the department hospital and Avera.
- Maintains basic knowledge of Medicare reimbursement principles understands and addresses to applicable laws and regulations reviews and updates departmental policies and practices to reflect current regulations.
- Supports Averas strategic goals and develops the departmental goals accordingly.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- 46 years RN
Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Bachelors in leadership or healthcare administration
