About the Role:

Under the direction of the department manager the Operations System Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of computer systems/applications used by the department. Analyzes problems and provides technical assistance support and advice to end users for hardware software and systems. Troubleshoot as necessary in order to provide user with prompt and proper corrective action toward achieving problem resolution by arranging any necessary corrective action or escalating the problem to higher priority.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop business rules regarding system enhancements and upgrades

  • Initiate project requests and maintain open communications with programmers while acting as liaison between users programmers and other departments

  • Recommend hardware and software upgrades and participate in the testing phases of these changes

  • Identify and initiate action to correct problems within business applications or interfacing systems

  • Maintain application licenses control tables and application permissions

  • Approve vendor changes

  • Schedule perform and monitor system backups

Skills and Requirements:

  • College degree in business or the equivalent in experience (35 years)

  • Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written)

  • Interpersonal savvy and be detail oriented

  • Must be able to shift work load as needed due to changing priorities

  • Must have the ability to establish highquality work standards in a fast paced environment

  • Have excellent project management experience

  • Strong collaborative skills to achieve consensus

  • Must have current technical training and/or experience with currently deployed operating systems

  • Have the ability to initiate the appropriate actions to minimize down time
