About the College School or Department

As the oldest largest and most academically diverse college at Cornell the College of Arts and Sciences serves as the nexus of discovery and impact and is committed to worldclass excellence. About the Office or Unit

The Department of Mathematics is a large and vibrant academic department in the College of Arts and Sciences. The department managers position supervises an eight member staff which supports approximately 43 professorial faculty 15 visiting faculty and continuing lecturers and a PhD program with 66 graduate students. The Department offers approximately 140 courses during the academic year with an enrollment of over 7000 students from across the university. The Department operates with an annual budget of $18 million including $3 million annually in grants and contracts.

The Opportunity

This positions start date is August 1 2025. The Mathematics Course Support Coordinator is fulltime at 39 hours per week and approx. 10 months of the year (approx. August 1 May 31) and requires occasional evening and weekend hours for prelims and finals and evening events.

As our Course Support Coordinator you will provide specialized and extensive support to a variety of math courses and general administrative support to faculty staff and students in the department including but not limited to:

Core business hours for the Mathematics department are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM. This position offers flexibility for start and end times as long as the office is covered between the core business hours. This is typically a hybrid position with 3 days in the office 2 days remote with some flexibility required to cover occasional prescheduled evenings and weekends for preliminary and final exams and evening events. And in order to ensure mutual success wed like for you to be on campus Monday through Friday during your orientation and onboarding period which will be mutually agreed upon by you and your supervisor.
