Homeless Prevention and Response Worker

• Annual salary of 28506 (FTE)

The role

As a Homeless Prevention & Response worker at Petrus you will deliver direct prevention support alongside a wider service offer to meet the needs experienced due other areas of disadvantage for example physical and mental health issues poverty experience of the criminal justice system substance use and domestic abuse.

Petrus will provide tailored support to prevent eviction from various tenure types prevent the need for temporary accommodation open access to alternative accommodation improve home environment and lifestyle and increase tenancy security and management.

This role will require you to work alongside other Petrus teams as well as other partners and agencies who provide support for people in the borough. These services will include healthcare (sexual health podiatry optometry) alcohol and substance use domestic abuse and mental health support.

The right fit

• Experience of working with individuals with multiple and complex needs.
• An understanding of the barriers faced by those affected by homelessness and experiencing multiple and complex needs.
• An understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018 in its approach to preventing homelessness.
• Experience of delivering support that supports and empowers change.
• Excellent communication skills including report writing use of IT and professional representation of the organisation.
• Ability to consult identify and facilitate key activities to promote wellbeing.
• Ability to demonstrate effective partner relationships and multi agency working.
• Ability to assess need and deliver effective support appropriate to need.
• Skill and experience in signposting service users to appropriate services.
• This role will require an Enhanced DBS
