Cenovus Energy is currently looking for an Engineering student to join the Subsurface Production team. As the successful candidate you will assist with the compilation and analysis of technical data as required for the monitoring management optimization and reporting for Subsurface Production from the White Rose field.
The Subsurface Production student will support both Production and Reservoir Engineers in the datadriven monitoring and performance evaluation of the White Rose production and injection wells.
We are looking for a candidate who is a keen learner and thrives working in a fastpaced and diverse environment.

What youll do
Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data workflows and data analysis requirements to support the identified Reservoir Engineering and Production Engineering use casesCollaborate with business stakeholders to define data workflows and data analysis requirements to support the identified Reservoir Engineering and Production Engineering use cases
Define data maps design and construct data models and rationalize and standardize data from various data sources
Prepare raw data for consumption including data structuring cleansing enriching mapping transforming and validating as required
Design and develop data solutions including analytical tools visualizations and reports to support operational and performance management requirements
Monitor current well conditions review historical data and identify well and field production optimization opportunities
Interface with various stakeholders such as Drilling Operations Maintenance and Subsea Engineering teams to identify and assess related field considerations
Assist with data management for the Subsurface Production team by maintaining production and reservoir engineering data solutions (applications databases and visualizations)
Support regulatory well testing and production reporting
Who you are
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canadafulltime for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g. work visa)
Available to begin work in September 2025
Critical thinker with the ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fastpaced hardworking team environment
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
Innovative with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problemsprocessesor solutions
Collaborative actively engage with a diverse stakeholder group to collectively achieve business goals
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
Experience with developing data solutions based on Python SQL and a data analytics platform such as Spotfire or PowerBI is preferred
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a high attention to detail
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
Education
Must be enrolled in a Mechanical Process or Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program or an Engineering Masters/Ph.D. Program at an accredited postsecondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to fulltime studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited postsecondary coop or internship program for the duration of the work term
