About the Role
The Fellowship is aimed at early career cardiologists who wish to obtain concentrated exposure to transthoracic stress and transoesophageal echo with some exposure available for CTCA and cardiac MRI. As the Cardiac Imaging Fellow you will provide the day to day clinical care and management of patients undergoing transthoracic transesophageal and stress echocardiography as inpatients or outpatients. To participate in performance and reporting of cardiac MRI scans. There is also opportunity to support and report cardiac CT scans. To undertake teaching and research duties within the Cardiac Investigation Unit and the St Vincents Heart Centre.
As well as;
Involvement with and management of cardiac patients at St. Vincents Hospital
Attendance at Cardiology Outpatient clinics
Teaching of junior staff technical staff and colleagues
Participate in the research program in echocardiography with particular interests in assessment of myocardial function exercise heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
Classifications for this position will range from HM25 HM30 ($129048.40 $177622.12 pro rata per annum) salary sacrifice and excluding super

About the Cardiology Department
The Cardiology Department at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne is a busy tertiary referral unit which provides diagnosis consultation and intervention in all areas of cardiology. The echocardiography laboratory performs transthoracic stress and transoesophageal echocardiography in hospital inpatients and outpatients using state of the art digital echocardiography equipment and using new techniques such as contrast 3D echocardiography and myocardial deformation assessment. Echocardiography is also critical for supporting the structural heart disease program. In addition the hospital provides cardiac MRI and CT coronary angiography services.
