Job Description

The Learning Community a vibrant public charter school that centers the voices of students families and teachers seeks a creative dedicated Grades 68 Instructional Coach to provide consistent and ongoing coaching support in literacy integration across our ELA Science Social Studies and Math Classrooms. The ideal candidate is interested in being part of a closeknit and collaborative school community. A coach will work with teachers in creating communities of learners who are actively engaged in literacy (speaking writing reading and listening) across the content areas. At The Learning Community we believe that literacy empowers each individual to have a voice take social action and assume community responsibility. We grow teacher leaders student leaders and community RI READS Instructional Coach will support teachers in implementing evidencebased literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading (SoR) and HQCM (HighQuality Core Materials). This position is part of the RI READS Coaching Corps focused on improving literacy outcomes through jobembedded coaching professional learning and datadriven instruction throughout content areas in grades coach will work directly with teachers leadership team and interventionists providing targeted support to enhance structured literacy instruction differentiation and smallgroup teaching. This role ensures that all educators have the knowledge skills and resources to deliver highquality literacy instruction to all Responsibilities:1. Professional Learning & Coaching SupportEngage in oneonone and small group coaching cycles including coplanning modeling and feedback jobembedded professional development on structured literacy smallgroup instruction and assessmentdriven educators in implementing RI READSaligned HQCM ensuring fidelity to the and provide training on explicit systematic literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading (SoR) across content and help sustain students and teachers in developing strong relationships and an active engaged and independent culture of learning.2. DataDriven Instruction & Student SupportAssist teachers in analyzing formative and summative literacy assessments to drive instructional with educators to implement smallgroup interventions and differentiated instruction based on student teachers use progress monitoring tools to track student growth and adjust instruction with leadership team to review schoolwide literacy trends and recommend instructional improvements.3. Common Planning Times (CPTs) & CollaborationFacilitate gradelevel and contentspecific CPTs focused on improving literacy collaborative lesson planning sessions helping teachers integrate evidencebased reading peer observations and coaching rounds fostering a culture of shared learning and instructional with interventionists special educators and MLL teachers to ensure equitable literacy access for all students.4. HQCM Implementation & Fidelity MonitoringProvide direct support in the adoption and rollout of HQCM ensuring all teachers understand and use materials targeted HQCM training sessions and develop supplemental resources as classroom walkthroughs and provide feedback on HQCM instructional teachers in scaffolding instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.5. Leadership & Capacity BuildingServe as a resource and mentor for teachers fostering a culture of professional closely with school leaders to align literacy instruction with state and local informed about emerging literacy research and best practices sharing insights with as a liaison between the RI READS Coaching Corps and the LEA ensuring consistency in literacy Qualifications:To be considered for this position all candidates must possess or be eligible for a RI teacher certification and have completed Science of Reading/Structured Literacy Proficiency level training. In addition all candidates must be U.S. citizens or residents or have work visas. Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of phonemic awareness phonics fluency vocabulary and comprehension to model coach and provide constructive feedback to in data analysis and assessment interpretation to inform in smallgroup instruction and facilitation presentation and interpersonal communication to work collaboratively with teachers administrators and district in using digital literacy tools and instructional an understanding and willingness to learn about and act on social issues that affect students (race class ability status etc.).Desired Education & Experience:Masters degree in Education Literacy Reading or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 35 years of experience in 612 literacy instruction with a strong foundation in structured literacy and cross content experience as a literacy coach instructional coach or mentor teacher (preferred).Demonstrated knowledge of Science of Readingaligned instructional using and supporting the implementation of HQCM and structured literacy Benefits and Other Details:Workday. This position is a fulltime Instructional Coach Grades 68 role based at the Learning Community Charter School in Central Falls Rhode Island. Instructional coaches work from August 1st June 30th each year. Instructional Coaches are expected to work at least 7:453:15 pm most days except for Wednesdays where the hours are 7:45am4:45pm due to whole team meetings. Additionally the individual will be required to attend Summer Institute in August prior to the start of each school year and two training dates with RIDE on Instructional Coach training as part of the RI Reads program. Salary. For this role our budgeted compensation range is $95000$105000 depending on and Benefits.
