Job Description
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist Certified for a 13weeks travel/contract assignment in Batavia New York 14020 . Both local and traveler candidates are welcome to apply.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12 hr Nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $1656 $1800
Position Summary:
The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is responsible for providing therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with respiratory deficiencies and abnormalities. This includes monitoring patient conditions setting up and operating various respiratory care equipment and providing treatment based on physician orders and established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy aerosol medication delivery chest physiotherapy and ventilator management.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust treatments as needed in consultation with physicians.
- Assess and document patient respiratory status and progress.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and proper equipment use.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and evaluate patient care.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate complete and in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Certification: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
- License: Valid New York State Respiratory Therapy License (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an acute care setting (preferred).
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
Travel & Local Considerations:
- Candidates outside a 50mile radius qualify for travel pay.
