Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Manager Imports Specialist

Our client a wellestablished brand known for its handcrafted leather bags and footwear is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead the sourcing of materials oversee imports and ensure all government regulations for exemptions and clearances are met.

This is a highimpact role where you ll play a critical part in maintaining the quality compliance and efficiency of their supply pipeline supporting the growth of their dynamic qualityfocused company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically source raw materials and finished goods from suppliers ensuring the best value in terms of quality price and reliability.
  • Lead endtoend contract and price negotiations with international suppliers and build longterm relationships with them.
  • Oversee all import processes including preparation and verification of documentation customs clearance and liaising with clearing agents and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage duty exemption applications and ensure all necessary compliance certifications (including SGS and KEBS) are in place before shipment departure.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve any delays or compliance issues at the port of origin or destination.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Finance Inventory and Production to forecast procurement needs and optimize stock levels.
  • Keep up to date with changes in trade regulations and proactively adapt processes to meet new requirements.


Requirements

What You ll Bring:

  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement a specific focus on imports is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of customs regulations clearing processes and duty exemption procedures in Kenya.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a proven track record in supplier management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software Microsoft Excel and supply chain tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
  • Experience working in manufacturing is a plus.
