Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups across primary secondary or college settings.
- Work with students with ASD ADHD SEMH and other learning difficulties providing tailored support.
- Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs using PECS Makaton and sensorybased learning.
- Help students develop confidence independence and social skills through structured interventions.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support when needed.
- Work collaboratively with teachers SENCOs and therapists to create a nurturing learning environment.
- Encourage inclusion and engagement ensuring all students have access to learning opportunities.
Who Were Looking For:
Graduates in Psychology Education SEN Social Work or related fields looking for handson experience.
Experienced Teaching Assistants Youth Workers or Support Workers with a passion for SEN.
A patient compassionate and proactive approach to working with children and young people.
Knowledge or experience of SEN strategies such as PECS Makaton Team Teach or deescalation techniques (desirable but not essential).
A willingness to learn and take part in ongoing CPD and training.

Education
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Safeguarding and Child Protection Training, Team Teach or MAPA training, Level 2/3 Certificate in Understanding Autism, Challenging Behaviour, or SEND, Mental Health or Wellbeing Training
