Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with solid experience in hydro generator systems and associated cooling equipment. This role focuses on the mechanical engineering aspects of generators including housing rotor/stator integration and thermal management systems ensuring operational efficiency and reliability in hydro generation stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design reviews for hydro generators stators rotors and auxiliaries
- Evaluate generator cooling systems (air hydrogen or watercooled) and ventilation design
- Coordinate closely with electrical engineers on integration of electromechanical systems
- Manage specifications and vendor interfaces for mechanical generator systems
- Support installation alignment and mechanical performance testing
- Review OEM documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years experience in hydro or large rotating electrical machinery
- Strong understanding of generator mechanical design principles and cooling strategies
- Experience working with OEMs on generator system procurement and testing
- Familiarity with generator codes and standards (e.g. IEC IEEE ASME)
- Proficient in interpreting mechanical stress vibration and thermal analyses
- Excellent coordination skills with electrical and control teams
