About the Department:
The Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center opened in September 1999 and is one of the largest facilities of its type in Northern Virginia. Located on the Science and Technology campus in Prince William County of George Mason University the 110000 square foot facility features a 50meter competition pool; leisure pool; whirlpool; locker facilities and family locker rooms; gymnasium with two practice courts; cardiovascular and strength training equipment; group fitness mind/body and spin studios; three racquetball/activity courts; community room and classroom and outdoor field and sand volleyball court.
About the Position:
We are seeking a qualified Massage Therapist to provide professional and engaging wellness therapies to our clients. You will offer a full range of treatments to fulfill different client needs and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage techniques possess excellent communication skills and maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform highquality massage treatments including Swedish deep tissue sports and other specialized techniques;
- Assess clients needs and recommend appropriate treatments;
- Create and maintain accurate client records including treatment notes;
- Ensure the massage room and equipment are clean sanitized and wellmaintained;
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service;
- Adhere to all applicable local and state regulations and licensing requirements; and
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and stay current with industry trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Massage Therapy License in the state of Virginia;
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Massage Therapist;
- Proficiency in various massage techniques (e.g. Swedish deep tissue sports massage);
- Strong understanding of human anatomy physiology and pathology;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries; and
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification
