The Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research is a collaborative research and education program that spans across UHN the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. It seeks to provide the world with new diagnoses treatments and tools to help people prevent manage and survive the devastating consequences of heart failure. It also provides global leadership in the cardiac field and offers multiple research and clinical educational opportunities and training. As part of this Centre the Ted Rogers Computational Program (TRCP) is currently recruiting a highly qualified Clinical Research Analyst. We are seeking an energetic individual to join our team and facilitate human subject research and quality improvement projects. Duties will include translating research questions into REDCap projects data set migration to and from REDCap data management coding and analysis documenting procedures and communication with internal clients.  Responsibilities also include software testing data abstraction and qualitychecking and other tasks as necessary.

Duties will comprise:

  • Translating research questions into REDCap projects This involves converting research questions into manageable data collection tools within the REDCap database.
  • Data set migration to and from REDCap Ensuring that data is properly transferred to and from REDCap for analysis and reporting.
  • Data management coding and analysis Handling data organization performing coding tasks and conducting analysis to support research projects.
  • Software testing data abstraction and qualitychecking Conducting software tests extracting data from various sources and performing quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and researchers Working closely with healthcare providers to build and maintain REDCap projects.
  • Facilitating human subject research and quality improvement projects Supporting the management of clinical research studies and projects aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications :

  • At minimum a Bachelors degree in a health or sciencerelated discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year of appropriate clinical and/or professional experience coop placements considered
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience with REDCap database development including longitudinal databases and surveys knowledge of advanced functions an asset
  • Experience with research CRF creation and implementing ERD in an electronic database system
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel including use of functions macros and addons
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP and TriCouncil Policy
  • Knowledge of web development UX design with HTML CSS code an asset
  • Previous experience with cardiovascular clinical research preferred
  • Knowledge of a programming language (SAS/R/Python) to perform simple data coding and analysis an asset
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fastpaced environment
  • Well developed leadership skills; selfmotivated
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Mentor/training experience is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook Word PowerPoint)
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
