About the role:
PwCs internal Privacy Team is looking for a Data Privacy Manager to join the team.
The Privacy team is at the forefront of ensuring PwC complies with its legislative and regulatory obligations under data protection law. You will have allocated areas of responsibility for which you will lead and manage the privacy compliance programme. You will help engagement teams navigate privacy compliance and complexities.
You will be at the forefront of assessing client engagements and processes for privacy compliance including those using cuttingedge technologies such as GenerativeAI and automations.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidates key responsibilities will include:
Offering timely and pragmatic privacy advice while balancing regulatory requirements and business interests;
Managing the privacy compliance of new and existing technology offerings with data protection standards;
Conducting various impact assessments and assessing transparency requirements;
Managing international data transfers and managing contractual negotiations;
Responding to data incidents;
Supporting on privacy projects and continually improving PwCs privacy management system; and
Mentoring junior members.
The skills and experience we are looking for:
Possess a degree and extensive experience in privacy advising with a regulatory/compliance background;
Must have prior experience to managing privacy projects or activities relating to privacy programmes;
Have solid knowledge of EU and UK data protection laws including UK GDPR DPA and PECR;
Understanding of ancillary legislation related to privacy and stay updated on regulatory developments and case law in data privacy;
Must possess a CIPP/E or CIPP/T qualification or an international equivalent;
Extensive inhouse experience of advising on privacy matters preferable or any experience consulting on privacy matters;
Highly motivated and able to work independently with support from senior expertise when needed reporting to senior team managers and the Data Protection Officer; and
The ideal candidate will need knowledge and expertise to both lead teams and to work independently at a senior level.
