Job Description
What We Are Looking For
Reporting to the AVP Innovation & Economic Development the Senior Director Cyber Initiatives position collaborates extensively across Baylor University the Greater Waco Region Texas and nationally to develop launch and execute a series of programs initiatives and trainings to build digital skills coding skills and technical certifications inside of Baylor and across Central Texas to advance cyber related education training research and community engagement.
A Masters degree and seven years of relevant work experience is required. A Masters degree and ten years of experience is preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis.
What You Will Do
- Develop and provide educational and professional development programs for K12 community college undergraduate graduate and continuing professionals to establish a cybersecurity workforce pipeline
- Expand academic partnerships with CompTIA and ECCouncil and develop customized training programs to meet the growing cybersecurity need
- Promote and expand Baylors undergraduate and graduate degree programs related to cybersecurity and MCC associates degree programs
- Foster a collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research across campus and industry to address technical workforce and national cybersecurity challenges
- Secure external funding through grants and contracts to support applied research initiatives
- Build lasting relationships across the Central Texas and Texas Triangle regions with industry government and other partners to understand cyber workforce needs in order to better coordinate current and future programs
- Facilitate community engagement to bring diverse voices to the conversation to enable creative robust solutions to our present and future cybersecurity challenges
- Work inside of Baylor and across the state of Texas to build awareness of and pipelines for new opportunities to deliver analysis consulting and professional education into the marketplace relating to Cyber
- Position the Cyber Hub to provide trusted analysis and services to its clients; these services could include cyber risk analysis cyber gap analysis design analysis software/system testing research & developmental guidance and policy guidance
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
