Job Summary/Description:
KGNS is looking for a dynamic Content Gatherer to join our team. You will be an integral part of the KGNS coverage that expands on multiple platforms. You will produce compelling and accurate content for both broadcast and digital platforms including on the weekend.
The ideal candidate is a creative aggressive news gatherer who can tell impactful stories and enhance our content. Someone with a sense of service who wants to tell stories in a highly ethical journalistic environment and have a great time doing a tough job. A Content Gatherer is responsible for confirming story details coverage and writing content for onair and digital platforms. This role requires sharp news judgment exceptional writing skills and the agility to update stories as they evolve for all platforms. The ideal candidate will gather content for our weekend newscasts and train as a fillin newscast producer.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Works with weekend crew news director and assignment desk to generate stories to cover the weekend for all platforms.
* Be able to use camera equipment and digital platforms.
* Be able to use Edius editing software
* Generate engaging enterprise content for onair and online reports
* Produce and booth newscasts
* Availability to work weekends and some holidays
* You will report to and work closely with the News Director Assistant News Director and Executive Producer in shaping and ensuring the execution of our content on all platforms (website social media our news and weather apps OTT and television).
* Must have strong writing storytelling and reporting skills
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Completion of high school or equivalent.
* College degree preferred.
* Must have strong writing storytelling and reporting skills
* Must have strong producing skills
* Must possess good organizational and time management skills
* Must be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed
* Ability to carry shoot and edit video with digital cameras
