Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide lowlatency highspeed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to help us build this service from the ground up.
Key job responsibilities Work with stakeholders across the Kuiper organization to define design implement and optimize a stateoftheart condition monitoring and remediation system for ground terminals.
Own the deployed monitoring and remediation system including leadership of a small team ensuring performance meets/exceeds published SLAs/KPIs.
Own the full software development lifecycle including design testing deployment mission integration and operational support.
Work with applied scientists/engineers on our team to define test and implement machinelearned anomaly detection tools predictive maintenance workflows and automated remediation applications.

A day in the life In this role as a Software Development Engineer you will design implement optimize and operate systems critical to the uptime and performance of Kuiper ground terminals. Your contributions will have a direct impact on customers around the world.
About the team The Kuiper Ground Systems Engineering team is responsible for the development deployment and longterm performance optimization of Kuiper satellite ground terminals located around the world (Gateway and Telemetry Tracking and Command (TT&C)). Ground terminals include fullmotion parabolic antennas radio frequency spectrum monitoring terminal monitoring and control and fault management systems. These softwaredriven distributed systems form the communications backbone for the Kuiper constellation and must provide the worldclass reliability uptime and performance our customers expect from Amazon.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience 2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
