The DOF oversees all finance matters including budgeting contracts financial aid expense control financial reporting accounting controls cash management and banking relations capital budgets and risk management. More specifically the Director of Finance administers control and oversight of the following business and financial operations of the school.Primary ResponsibilitiesFinance and Human ResourcesSupervise the work of business office personnel and use standard accounting and bookkeeping procedures to keep an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school and manage the financial operation of the school so that the institution remains financially stableOversee accounts receivable and payableMonitor and control cash flowEfficiently manage expenses within all school departmentsHelp to ensure that the school operates within budgetPartner with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees committees to develop the annual operating budget and maintain a longrange financial model for the schoolOversee all school purchasing financial investments and banking activitiesManage outsourced financial relationshipsWork with the Head of School to provide capital budgeting and project oversight for new construction and renovation projectsReview and negotiate facility contracts and agreements Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to effectively manage the Financial Assistance programEvaluate purchase and oversee property liability vendor and workers compensation insurance programsPartner with the Business Manager in the administration of the retirement planPerform payroll analysis to assist Head of School and Board of Trustees in determining teacher and staff raisesExecute employee annual contracts for all faculty and staffManage risk at the school to ensure the safety of personnel and students in their use of the facilities and to maintain appropriate levels of insurance to protect the property and to cover the liability of the schoolReporting and SupportProvide necessary reports to the Board Treasurer and Head of School for quarterly and yearly Board of Trustee meetingsProvide quarterly financial statements to submit to the bankDistribute monthly budget manager reports and update new budget amounts annuallyMaintain accounting database budgeting module for accurate reflection of departmental budgetsProvide for the securing of an annual audit of the schools financial records and financial positions and complete financial compliance activities along with the business office personal Serve as liaison between school and insurance brokersEnsure that the school complies with all federal state and local laws as well as maintains taxexempt status on a federal state and local levelCommunication and LiaisonRepresent the school at various regional state and national associations relative to the role of being the Director of FinanceInform teachers and staff of policies and benefits at teacher orientation and throughout the yearAddress and inform the school parents at the annual parent orientation of school policiesDevelop and maintain a companys financial policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned
