Job Description

Manager of Student Engagement

University of Arizona Hillel

Role Overview

Are you the kind of person who cant leave a coffee line without striking up a conversation Do you believe that Jewish life on campus should be as diverse vibrant and welcoming as the students it serves Join us as the Manager of Jewish Student Engagement and help shape a dynamic inclusive Jewish experience for emerging adults on campus. Youll be a frontfacing force behind engagement relationshipbuilding student leadership development and creative Jewish programming.

In this role youll create strategic initiatives to inspire students to get involved explore their Jewish identities celebrate community connect with Israel and build meaningful relationships. Youll be part educator part strategist part community builderand 100% dedicated to helping students write their own Jewish stories.

What Youll Do

  • Cultivate oneonone relationships with Jewish students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Supervise mentor and empower student leaders and volunteers to take ownership of Jewish programming and outreach.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of weekly Shabbat experiences holiday celebrations social events and learning cohorts.
  • Assist with initiatives such as Birthright Israel recruitment and followup fellowship programs and cohortbased Jewish learning.
  • Assist with marketing communications and social media strategy to effectively tell the story of Jewish life on campus.
  • Track engagement data and use metrics to inform program development and outreach efforts.
  • Support prospective students and families at tours open houses and orientation events.

What Youve Accomplished

  • 3 years of professional experience in Jewish life student affairs education community organizing or a closely related field.
  • A bachelors degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fastpaced missiondriven environment.
  • Comfort mentoring students leading programs and pitching in wherever neededfrom brainstorming to setting up Shabbat dinner.
  • Proven Success In:
    • Recruitment and engagement of Jewish young adults.
    • Creating vibrant and inclusive Jewish spaces.
    • Inspiring and mentoring Jewish students.
    • Building community.
    • Balancing multiple projects and managing time effectively.
