Job Description

STV is seeking a professional Structural Engineer to join our team servicing the Water Practice out of either our Houston TX. STV specializes in the planning organization and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities industrial buildings hydraulic structures etc.

Our engineers work on high quality highprofile national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle from the design phase through final construction closeout.

Typical Duties:

  • Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards engineering formulas skills and experience.
  • Develop structural engineering plans design and layout.
  • Provide drawings and/or sketches for designs to be incorporated in construction drawings by drafters.
  • Serve as the responsible engineer forprojectssign and seal structural drawings.
  • Research design options.
  • Prepare load combination drawings and tables for structure manufacturers.
  • Perform project management duties for structural engineering projects.
  • Review shop drawings.
  • May serve as Project Engineer and as a client contact on projects.
  • Use computerassisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.
  • Perform field activities such as observation of construction progress and existing field conditions.
  • Effectively communicate project progress and issues to the design team and maintain communication with the team members throughout the course of the project.
  • Capable of managing and performing multiple projects in a fastpaced environment.
  • Calculate structure heights and weights concrete volumes equipment fitup or other basic tasks.
  • Cost estimating including takeoffs and getting quotes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and SE are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience is preferred.
  • Limited travel and field work will be required.
  • Proficiency with finite element modeling software (SAP2000 or RISA 3D) SPCOLUMN LPILE HILTI Autodesk CIVIL 3D and Microsoft Office programs including Word Excel and Outlook. Experience with Autodesk REVIT is beneficial.
  • The selected candidate should be eligible for employment in the U.S. possess a valid drivers license and be prepared to pass periodic drug screenings and a background check.

Compensation Range:

$89487.93 $119317.24
