Join WalmartVIZIO and take your career to the next level!We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Manager of software Engineering specializing in embedded Linux systems to help develop Vizios middleware network media and application development for HTML and native applications for Vizios TV platform. The Senior Manager will be responsible for taking visions and directing communicating tracking and mentoring the Engineering team to successfully implement those visions solving the most difficult problems in the company. This Position will report to our Senior Director Software Engineering and will have multiple Engineering Managers as direct reports. We are a closeknit team focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. There will also be minimal travel associated with this role (twice a year). We concentrate on highimpact highvalue development and in this role youll be delivering the software that helps us grow. We pride ourselves on working in a collaborative environment and to do so we are in our Dallas TX office 5 days a week.

About the Technology Team:
Our Technology Team is at the forefront of Walmarts digital transformation. We develop and maintain scalable highperformance systems that drive Walmarts ecommerce and instore operations. Your role as Principal Software Engineer will be pivotal in shaping our technology landscape working on projects that align with our mission to deliver a seamless shopping experience.
What Youll Do:
Lead and build a highperforming technical team to achieve business objectives.
Review product requirements and offer strategic suggestions.
Engage in architecture and design for new products prototyping and improving existing software.
Develop and implement engineering plans and schedules ensuring timely delivery.
Oversee systems and processes ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Stay updated with emerging technologies providing technical leadership and guidance.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and partners.
What Youll Bring:
8 years of experience in managing engineering teams architecture design planning and release management for consumer electronic or embedded devices.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electronics or equivalent experience.
Expertise in C C11 HAL layer notification systems IPC multiprocessing multithreading and debugging/core dump analysis.
Proficiency in ShellScript Makefile JavaScript Python git and bug tracking tools.
Knowledge in native application integrations (Airplay AppleTV Netflix YouTube) and video player developments (hls/dash) audiovideo codecs (H264 H265 AEC DTS Dolby Digital) and DRM (Widevine PlayReady FairPlay).
Strong problemsolving skills proactive mindset and ability to multitask and drive parallel projects with tight deadlines.
