This role will assist the VP Asset Liability Management (ALM) in the companys ALM function. This includes being the primary user of the Empyrean AL software (Empyrean) which is used for forecasting risk management and operational decision making by the CEO and CFO. Information and analytics produced in this role are critical in financial reporting.
Take ownership of the following
Running of the monthly base forecast yield curve impact and other standard shock scenarios
Running of the quarterly alternative scenarios as prescribed by the policy
Running of routine ad hoc and whatif scenarios that require using Empyrean
Preparation of analysis and reports required for the monthly reporting including those delivered to the Board of Directors the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and Executive Management
Semiannual upgrade to the latest Empyrean version including performing a parallel run and analysis thereof
Providing ALM consultants the data required for their quarterly report and presentation reviewing the report and presentation and ensuring proper alignment with Empyrean results
The annual validation of Empyrean
Answer monthly questions regarding interest income and expense variances
Documentation of Empyrean assumptions and justification of any changes therein
Maintain an indepth knowledge of operations and troubleshooting Empyrean
Vendor risk management for Empyrean
Ensure the accuracy of modeled results both routine and ad hoc
Produce any required ALM information for ad hoc analytics including financial derivatives
Produce any required information for all audits including internal and external
Implement sufficient crosstraining and routine testing and updating of processes and procedures to ensure uninterrupted provision of the above by the assigned deadlines
Assist the VP ALM with the following
Review and update of related policies and documents including the ALCO Policy and IRR Program Document
Implementation and running of the Empyrean FTP module
Continuous improvement of the Empyrean model
Regulatory reporting and audit preparation
Make decisions and initiate action to ensure that business unit policies and practices leverage the capabilities and insights of individuals with diverse backgrounds cultures and abilities.
Bachelors degree in Finance or related field; Masters in Business Administration (MBA) FRM or CFA certification preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years in a corporate finance or corporate treasury function preferably within a financial institution.
A minimum of two (2) years of being the primary user of Empyrean AL for a financial institution of a minimum asset size of $5 billion. Knowledge of FTP ECEL and RAROC is preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft office systems. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including lookup functions tables and pivot tables. Knowledge of Power Query Power BI and DAX preferred.
Starting Compensation: $77376$96720 annually plus a competitive benefits package.
