Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Medical AI Team Lead is a key member of the Medical Analytics Leadership Team and leads the Medical AI team as part of the larger Medical Engagement and Impact organization (MEI). The Team Lead will drive leadership in AIbased scientific innovations and engagements across medical affairs initiatives. This role works closely across Global Medical Categories Pfizer Digital and other cross functional stakeholders to lead strategies and initiatives advancing the science of AI across Pfizers therapeutic areas: Oncology Primary Care Specialty Care and Vaccines and also with PRD. The Team Lead is responsible for managing the members of the Medical AI team prioritizing projects and ensuring on time execution and delivery.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive execution of AI strategies and AIbased scientific initiatives across the enterprise in partnership with Medical PRD and crossfunctional colleagues
  • Ensure teams are learning from successes by leading Community of Practice(s) adapting direction based on failures and reporting AIrelated KPIs/metrics to the organization
  • Lead and support internal crossfunctional teams via emails training sessions and workshops for generative AI initiatives
  • Deliver insights that inform medical AI strategies through scientific exchange including those from technology/AIfocused congresses to ensure teams are advancing the science of generative and multimodal AI
  • Navigate an evolving ecosystem of AI teams including colleagues from Global Medical Affairs Category Teams Digital Evidence Generation GAV and R&D.
  • Represent Pfizer externally with external clinicians and AI experts to establish scientific presence at international/regional meetings and with key institutions
  • Stay abreast of the external trends and technologies in AI for Medical and continuously seek to innovate ensuring Pfizer leads in a rapidly evolving space.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • PhD and 7 years pharmaceutical industry; Masters 10 years pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Affairs or Agency partner supporting Medical Affairs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with AIbased technologies
  • Represent a function within a matrix organization through a strong track record of excellent presentation customer facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in communicating complex AI concepts and information to crossfunctional teams and senior business executives.
  • Direct external vendors and manage budgets timelines and quality of deliverables.
  • Grasp scientific context and assimilate perspectives from stakeholders across Medical Digital and those with AI expertise.
  • Strong track record of written and oral communication skills to develop and present scientific information to varied audiences and articulate messages succinctly.
  • Understand detailed technical information and convey complex ideas to a variety of audience types and cultures.
  • Quickly build rapport and credibility with key internal and key external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills to track numerous tasks for multiple simultaneous projects in a deadlineoriented environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant AI knowledge and familiarity of various LLMs agentic agents and solutions.
  • Experience in critically evaluating AIrelated initiatives and research including for publications
  • Experience with interactive data visualization and programs for data visualization development
  • Basic programming skills for use of API with AI systems
  • Relevant therapeutic area expertise (primary care specialty care vaccines oncology)
  • Experience in developing and driving GTM strategies across all stages of an asset life cycle.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $219800.00 to $366400.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
