Job DescriptionThe Staff Physical Therapist the Physical Therapist II reports to the Clinical Supervisor Physical Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The P.T. II works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds although pediatric and adolescent may also be treated. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals the P.T. II plans and administers a full range of physical therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations using physical therapy tests and measurements establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing physical therapy modalities and procedures. The Staff Physical Therapist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties the P.T. II may also supervise support personnel including Registered Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides as well as P.T. and P.T.A. students. The Staff P.T. actively participates in departmental and organizational programs including performance improvement activities clinical education programs and inservices and staff development activities.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% 120% of the established midpoint. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

- Possession of licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
- Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification.
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a licensed therapist.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress.
- Basic computer skills in word processing and on line communication.
- Possession of good interpersonal time management problem solving and selfinitiation skills.
- This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Prior physical therapy experience in an academic medical center environment.
- Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team.
- Possession of a degree or certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited professional educational program.
- Possession of licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
- Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification.
