Join our Corporate Services team at the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure as a Systems Accountant and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our financial management systems.

As a Systems Accountant you will be at the forefront of overseeing and enhancing our financial systems practices and policies. Your expertise will drive the design and configuration of systems that not only meet accounting requirements but also deliver exceptional business outcomes.. Youll lead and manage the codesign and configuration of systems managed by the Shared Service provider translating complex accounting requirements into clear actionable processes and ensuring they align with Australian Accounting Standards and governance frameworks

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the design and enhancement of finance systems to ensure they meet business regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Translating complex accounting and business needs into effective system configurations and processes. Advising on accounting policies controls and statutory compliance to support major financial initiatives.
  • Driving process improvements and system optimisation projects from end to end.
  • Identifying and mitigating system risks ensuring controls are robust and reliable.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to plan system upgrades and manage change with minimal disruption.
  • Supporting yearend activities and ensuring smooth financial rollovers.
