Job Description

Precision Aviation Group (PAG) is a leading provider of products and value-added services to the aerospace and defense industries worldwide. With over 1.1 million-square-feet sales and services facilities in the United States Canada Australia Singapore Brazil PAGs 27 locations and customer-focused business model serve aviation customers through Supply Chain and Inventory Supported Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (ISMRO) services.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and supporting the timely and accurate reporting of financial information. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform/review monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Prepare/review standard recurring and adjusting journal entries
  • Support the Accounting Manager in executing an efficient and timely month-end close process
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and external reporting deliverables
  • Compile documentation and schedules for internal and external audit requirements
  • Analyze financial statements to identify variances and recommend appropriate adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and participate in special projects as needed
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives safe work practices and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules FAA regulations PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking bending and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting lifting carrying pushing or pulling weight up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.

Work Location: Atlanta Corporate Headquarters

Protective Equipment Required: None

Potential Hazards: Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy; ability to read write and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; multi-tasking a necessity; thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to type with accuracy and speed; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.

Education/Training:

A bachelors degree in accounting is required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting or corporate finance
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel skills are required including proficiency with formulas pivot tables lookups and data analysis tools
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels

Certificates/Licenses: CPA Preferred but not required

    Other: Other duties may be assigned in role to support other departments personnel or projects.
