The role
This role is all about driving a culture of proactive safety across the department. As the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Manager Risk and Audit youll lead the development and execution of key frameworks that help everyone understand manage and reduce workplace health and safety risks including emerging areas like psychosocial hazards. Youll be the goto expert who translates complex WHS risk management and assurance concepts into practical actions that support both everyday operations and organisational compliance. Demonstrated experience in the identification assessment and control of physical and psychosocial hazards in a large complex organisation will be key to your success.

Youll juggle the demands of ensuring strong regulatory compliance while guiding senior leaders to embed a riskaware culture across the organisation. Success here means being comfortable influencing diverse stakeholders thinking ahead identifying emerging trends and leading a team with confidence and clarity.

About you the skills and qualities that make a difference:

  • Strong background in WHS risk management including psychosocial hazard identification and control
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying assessing and managing physical and psychosocial hazards in complex environments
  • Proven ability to turn technical WHS data into clear functional insights for a variety of audiences
  • Experience building and implementing WHS assurance frameworks and systems
  • Confident communicator who can influence and coach leaders across complex organisations
  • Adept at balancing operational demands with strategic insight and planning
  • Formal qualifications in WHS and auditing with deep knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • A natural collaborator with the ability to lead inspire and mentor others effectively
  • Holds a current Class C drivers licence and is willing to undertake occasional travel as required
