REPORTS TO: Lead Teacher/Day Care Director/Preschool Director or Principal
GENERAL DUTIES:
To team with the EC Preschool Teacher Day Care Teacher and Lead Teacher (Director) in organizing and implementing the food service program maintaining a safe and clean educational environment completing required paperwork and serving as a positive role model for all EC Preschool children andday care children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma
Food Handling Certificate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist office personnel and lead teacher (Day Care Director) to implement the Child and Adult Care Food Program in order for the program to meet the integrity standards set forth by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Women and Child Nutrition.
Assist with monitoring enrollment.
Assist with the typing of menus and monitor posting for parents.
Assist with keeping receipts of food bought and tally at end of month.
Assist with paying food bills and related bills.
Document attendance and food count match.
Assist Lead Teacher with the monthly report to Raleigh for reimbursement to the food program (records and documentation).
- Implement the food program at Shining Stars.
Prepare the food served to children staff and others contracted through the food program.
Understand general nutrition requirements.
Have a working knowledge of meal patterns required in N.C. Child Care Programs and the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP).
Develop weekly menus which meet the CACFP requirements and to record substitutes.
Wash dishes and utensils used in preparation of foods.
Clean the stove countertops and other kitchen surfaces daily.
Mop the kitchen floor daily.
Supervise and train any assistant cooks.
Supervise the service of food in the classrooms ensure that correct sanitation is in place as well as correct amount of food served.
Clean refrigerator freezer cabinets and stove when needed.
Arrange with office assistant and/or director to order weekly food items.
Arrange with office assistant and/or director to order bulk items and paper goods.
Understand and maintain the environmental health sanitation requirements.
