What does a successful Mainframe Tester do at Fiserv

You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our mainframe applications. By designing and executing detailed test plans identifying and documenting defects and collaborating closely with development teams they ensure our applications meet the highest standards and specifications. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity and performance of our mainframe systems supporting Fiservs mission to enhance the financial services experience for our clients.

What you will do:

• Perform testing activities including planning design scripting and execution also Develop and implement test automation strategies using various automation tools.
• Execute manual testing processes for software applications running on mainframe environments and use testing tools like HP ALM Jira or other test management systems for test execution and defect tracking.
• Conduct posttesting execution phase activities such as error debugging reporting needs and internal and external communications.
• Provide accurate test estimates and allocate resources for testing activities.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of Agile Waterfall and other SDLC methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness and generate and maintain documentation related to test plans cases results and defects.
• Work with COBOL JCL DB2 VSAM CICS and other mainframe technologies utilize CA7 scheduling to manage and run mainframe jobs effectively.
• Communicate with project managers clients and other developers to design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development testing and deployment.
• Lead and facilitate test planning and quality review sessions and participate in daily standup calls for discussion of testing status defects and general test management.

What you will need to have:

• 4 years of experience in manual testing and developing automation scripts.
• 4 years of experience with mainframe systems and using tools such as JCL batch processing and configuration management tools.
• 4 years of experience in software testing with a focus on mainframe systems.
• Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education work and military experience.

What would be great to have:

• 4 years of experience in test management tools for test planning execution and bug tracking.
• 4 years of experience with Agile Waterfall and other SDLC methodologies.
• 3 years of Payment System experience.
• Indepth knowledge of mainframe testing.
• Experience with utilizing CA7 scheduler.
• Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
