Position Summary
The Sitter is responsible for always ensuring the supervision of patients. Overseeing all patient safety needs are met by; keeping them safe from falls assuring that appropriate alarms are in place and performing one to one safety case if necessary.
Essential Functions
Assists patients with basic personal care or activities of daily living.
Provides patients with emotional support.
Uses deescalation techniques and therapeutic communication when necessary.
Detects changes in the condition of patients and reports those changes to nursing staff promptly.
Alerts nursing staff when assistance is needed with the care of the patient.
Maintains records of care provided for patients to include possible 15minute observation checks.
Provides excellent and empathetic/compassionate care.
Report to and departs from work on time and as scheduled. If unable emails management immediately.
Adheres to direct line of sight requirements for patients that are deemed a danger to self or others.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
Adheres to company policies procedures and standards.
Outstanding communication listening and observation skills.
Undeterred by distressed or combative patients.
Perform basic nursing functions such as taking vitals.
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure
Performs other duties as assigned.

Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Education
High School Degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Certified Nurse Aide license preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date
Work Experience
13 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
