The Principal Engineer for Traded Risk Technology is a pivotal role designed to spearhead the development and standardization of engineering capabilities within the traded risk sector of our financial institution. This position demands not only a profound technical expertise in Java or C# and SQL but also a strong capability in running batch processes with integration. The ideal candidate will have handson experience in coding preferably in Java or C# and an indepth understanding of SQL including writing and managing stored procedures. A key part of this role is to be a visionary leader who advocates for automating repetitive tasks and emphasizes reusability across the technology landscape.

This role is ideal for a technology leader passionate about driving engineering excellence in the traded risk space leveraging deep technical expertise and a forwardlooking approach to shape the future of traded risk technology. If you are a handson coder with a vision for automating and standardizing tasks and have a strong background in engineering we encourage you to apply.

What do I need

  • Extensive experience with handson coding in Unix Shell Scripting Java or C# coupled with a robust understanding of SQL including expertise in writing and managing stored procedures.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams with a focus on developing and standardizing engineering capabilities within the traded risk domain.
  • Experience in designing and running batch processes with a strong emphasis on integration and system connectivity. Proficiency with ControlM is essential.
  • Strong advocacy for automating repetitive tasks with a demonstrated history of implementing solutions that increase efficiency and promote reusability.
  • Solid experience with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies emphasising CI/CD continuous improvement.
  • Experience in traded risk or market risk environments would be highly advantageous.
