PATIENT SERVICE REPJob Description:
Essential Functions
- Provide medical and surgical office front desk support to Surgical practice.
- Greet patients collect copays answer telephones schedule patient appointments and testing ensure necessaryreferrals are in place verifyand update patient demographicsinto electronic health record.
- Escort patient to exam room for provider during clinic.
- Schedule appointments ancillary testing and surgery
- Request prior authorizations for medical procedures/diagnostic exams and surgery.
- Refer medical questions to appropriate sources (Physician Manager or Director. Prepare end of day cash/copay reports.
- Submit billing to our billing vendor with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Respond to billing companies requests for documentation or clarification of charges.
- Participate in special projects as identified by the Physician Manager or Director
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with computers and medical terminology preferred
