Are you a passionate and peoplefocused tech leader who thrives in innovative environments Were looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead our software organization within the Avionics Product Unit which develops safetycritical avionics equipment for both military and civil platforms. In this role youll be responsible for setting the strategic direction for our software development while supporting and empowering a team of experienced managers and their highperforming engineering teams.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Lead and develop a team of software engineers fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and excellence.
Define and implement software development processes methodologies and tools ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
Oversee the full software development cyclefrom idea to production
Manage the departments budget and resources effectively.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
The Software Engineering department will consist of three sections with approximately 55 people making this a key leadership role within the Engineering organization of PU Avionics. Youll be part of a supportive and forwardthinking engineering organization where your voice matters and will have the opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects.
Were looking for someone with strong technical knowledge in software development paired with excellent communication and leadership skills. Youre someone who brings people together listens actively and leads with clarity and confidence. Youre also comfortable setting clear goals and translating strategy into action and you have a track record of making sound decisions.
To thrive in this role you have:
Proven experience (5 years) in software engineering leadership roles ideally within the aerospace or safetycritical systems industry.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall) safetycritical software development standards (e.g. DO178C) and relevant programming languages (e.g. C C Ada).
Strong proficiency in English with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken form.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
