About the Group Accountant Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Group Accountant to join our growing international finance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting you will play a vital role in supporting accurate financial reporting consolidation of group accounts and contributing to Smartvattens ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to take a central role in ensuring robust financial controls and facilitating business growth across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities Group Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and consolidate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (FAS).
- Support the groups monthend and yearend close procedures and ensure timely accurate reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports budgets and forecasts to support strategic decisionmaking.
- Maintain intercompany reconciliations and transactions ensuring alignment across all entities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements internal controls and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems for efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with Finance HR and business units across multiple countries.
Qualifications & Skills for the Group Accountant Role
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; recognized accounting certification (CPA ACCA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years experience in group accounting audit or financial reporting in an international context.
- Strong knowledge of FAS and handson experience in consolidating financial statements.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial ERP systems.
- Keen attention to detail analytical mindset and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Clear effective communication skills in English; additional European language(s) is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural distributed team environment.
