At Valcon you will work on challenging projects in sectors such as financial services logistics energy healthcare and insurance for clients like Schiphol IKEA Rabobank Heineken and ASML. Tasks
What will you do
As a Lead Java Developer you will take technical ownership of the entire software development life cycle from gathering requirements to designing developing implementing and continuously improving scalable applications. You apply best practices in software architecture and ensure robust maintainable and futureproof solutions.
Youll get the opportunity to work on missioncritical systems within modern cloudnative environments together with multidisciplinary Agile teams. In these projects scalability performance and reliability are essential. You will be designing and setting up microservices (if this is the best solution for the problem at hand) building APIs and designing CI/CD pipelines.
At Valcon youll have the freedom to bring your technical vision to life while acting as a trusted technical advisor to the client. Youll also play a key role in mentoring colleagues sharing knowledge continuously improving the development process and helping to shape our software engineering capability.
Requirements
Experience:
- A completed technical bachelors or masters degree
- At least 7 years of professional experience as a software developer
- Experience with and enjoyment in mentoring and coaching other developers
- Deep knowledge of the Java ecosystem (e.g. Spring or Spring Boot)
- Experience with automated testing
- A mindset that sees technology as a tool to solve realworld problems
- Strong communication skills a polyglot mindset and an entrepreneurial attitude
- Experience in consultancy is a significant plus
- Experience with largescale deployments (high availability scalability resilience API security) is a plus
- Experience with cloudnative environments (AWS Azure GCP) is a plus
- Fluent in Dutch and/or English
